Born again in Jesus Christ versus signs and desire

Given the constant refrain of pop Christianity about men having free will and thus by extension being able to plainly see the Kingdom of heaven by everything from ‘scientific means’ to ‘nature’, it will come as a shock to free willers to hear God tell a priest that no one can see the Kingdom of God unless they become an outright different creature.

Common sense of fallen man says:

John 3:1,2  But there was a man from among the Pharisees, his name Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;  he came to him by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art come a teacher from God, for none can do these signs that thou doest unless God be with him.

The premise is basically: see sign and believe ..as the same creature you are already are. Nothing divine required.

God immediately calls that logic a lie:

John 3:3  Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except any one be born anew he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemous confounded a sign with the Kingdom of God because he had yet to be born again. The fact he was still a fallen human being and that he had to be a different being in order to actually see and understand what his speech said he already saw and understood and perfectly described was not part of his sight.

The non-creating speech in Nicodemus argues the same:

John 3:4  Nicodemus says to him, How can a man be born being old? can he enter a second time into the womb of his mother and be born?

Clearly the non-creating speech/ mind of Nicodemus as part of the definition of being fallen sees no way to be born again but to repeat a process. And the repeating of that process is ridiculous in the extreme. But having seen the other signs, his incredulity is such that anything ..as staying the same creature with the same speech.. is possible. He perhaps would have taken Jesus Christ metaphorically and thought being born again meant ‘to go on an extreme, soul searching adventure and understand the other guy’s point of view..” or some such. But to be a different spiritual creature did not come into his common sense.

John 3:5-8  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except any one be born of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Do not wonder that I said to thee, It is needful that *ye* should be born anew.  The wind blows where it will, and thou hearest its voice, but knowest not whence it comes and where it goes: thus is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Clearly, being born again was not something one that got born again controlled. The power of new creation and new birth ‘blows where it will’ and ‘thou hearest its voice, but knowest not whence it comes and where it goes’ ..thus IS every one that is born of the Spirit.

Nicodemus for looking for a controllable process, both that as a priest he could do for others, even with the best of intentions and not just for priestly monopoly purposes for power, and he could do for himself. In Nicodemus’ mind, what good is a priest-hood if the priest CAN’T perform a particular function when the people want it or need it? If it all depends on God, that common sense of priest-craft says: “Then what am I doing standing here?”

Good question.

Christ destroys the priesthood of the old system along with the old system by fulfilling its function and simultaneously grants what is necessary to the people when HE knows they need it: new birth in Jesus Christ. No one controls their own new birth in Jesus Christ. For the elect, that is both a comfort and a necessity: God knows more than we do and acts on what He knows and as His Own Will. For the reprobate, that is an offense because they are vain and proud and ignorant in the extreme, always siding with Satan and the damned and saying how unfair it all is for the damned and Satan.

Free willer false Christianity is simply priest craft. It is the common sense of the fallen mind and non-creating speech looking for a way to make a living.

People are constantly distracted by Satan. The few times they ‘get spiritually serious’ they want to go back to a user-friendly, Rick Warren type “Birth me again on demand” system that has no new birth in it but a witchcraft they might call ‘renewal’ or ‘refreshing’. In fact, they want to keep repeating the unforgivable sin as default religious behavior, ( equating the Word of God with demonic speech and pretending there is only one big Language that men God and Satan have to use..) exactly as they have been taught by Rick Warren’s through the centuries. They may even want to teach Sunday School expressly so they can twist some new innovation from Scripture by the means of the unforgivable sin as that default behavior and call that ‘serving the body of Christ’.

How do you know if you have already been born again? Ask the Holy Spirit that dwells in you if you have been born again. You cannot be your own witness:

Galatians 4:6,7  But because ye are sons, God has sent out the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  So thou art no longer bondman, but son; but if son, heir also through God.

Romans 8:14-16  for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, *these* are sons of God.   For ye have not received a spirit of bondage again for fear, but ye have received a spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God.
2 Corinthians 13:3-6  Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, (who is not weak towards you, but is powerful among you,  for if indeed he has been crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power; for indeed *we* are weak in him, but we shall live with him by God’s power towards you,)  examine your own selves if ye be in the faith; prove your own selves: do ye not recognise yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless indeed ye be reprobates?  Now I hope that ye will know that *we* are not reprobates.

In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen
