Problem of Evil?

It’s a big deal for atheists and religionists to seem to be either denying God or wondering out loud how to solve unbeliever’s questions about God’s suitability to be chosen as God within the lie of human free will, within the implication that only non-creating speech exists in total reality and within the lie that is spiritual uniformitarianism. The question is not even one held forth to be of personal doubt but of ‘social’ doubt as a political doctrine against Christian governance and the suitability of Christians to supposedly ‘do’ pagan compassion as governance:  everyone who is an unbeliever is looking to ‘solve the question of evil’ for the other guy just before he votes.

There is no “problem of evil” question in Scripture. Even when God Says through Paul that there is a ‘mystery of lawlessness’ He also says He has revealed all things to us in Jesus Christ/Word of God.

1Corinthians 2:9-16  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.   But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

1. God is the only God. He created and creates evil.

Isaiah 45:5-7  I am the Lord, and there is none else: there is no God besides me: I girded thee, and thou hast not known me:  That they may know who are from the rising of the sun, and they who are from the west, that there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is none else:  I form the light, and create darkness, I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord that do all these things.

2. Non-creating speech/Anti-Christ will never understand Creating Speech/Jesus Christ. Period. That God creates as His Word/Christ and then at times destroys what He formerly created to make it better, wiser, stronger, more perfect in accordance with His will as He lives would never enter non-creating speech’s mind. To anti-Christ, who can’t create anything, things are the way they are and they will always be that way: spiritual uniformitarianism. In a uniformitarianistic model of Things, anything that disturbs uniformitarianism is a no go. Plainly, non-uniformitarian things in uniformitarianism won’t work.

3. God creates His own enemies. And in newly creating the earth and the heavens does away with His enemies. A lot of what is called ‘evil’ by anti-Christ is simply code of “negative emotions experienced” and has to do with God getting rid of the very enemies He created as enemies specifically to make His power known. He says that: verbatim.

Romans 9:18-26  Therefore he hath mercy on whom he will. And whom he will, he hardeneth.  Thou wilt say therefore to me: Why doth he then find fault? For who resisteth his will?  O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it: Why hast thou made me thus?  Or hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump, to make one vessel unto honour and another unto dishonour?  What if God, willing to shew his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath, fitted for destruction,  That he might shew the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy which he hath prepared unto glory?  Even us, whom also he hath called, not only of the Jews but also of the Gentiles.   As in Osee he saith: I will call that which was not my people, my people; and her that was not beloved, beloved; and her that had not obtained mercy; one that hath obtained mercy.  And it shalt be in the place where it was said unto them: you are not my people; there they shall be called the sons of the living God.

In creating enemies and in taking out of that whole population of enemies some to be saved and become sons and others to destroy, God:

1. demonstrates absolute power

2. does so in such a way to be perfectly understood in perpetuity as having done so ( the saved/newly created as sons in Jesus Christ have that memory forever and keep it as a testimony )

The lie going around that God can’t create something that is not of His Own Character and thus could not have created evil is simply a lie. That lie seeks to limit God to being powerful ..within His Own Character.

But that is not so. God creates evil and thereby proves He is unlimited expressly by creating something not of His Own Character. Doing so proves absolute and total power –exactly as He Said. “To make His power known..”   ..which goes far beyond “He could but He wouldn’t..”

Oh yes He did.

And He did so in a way to be remembered forever by the elect as a gift of remembrance and as being never understood by the reprobate as withholding from them the Christ / Truth. The true Christian/new creature in Jesus Christ as a witness of God’s power sees both and simultaneously that God indeed creates evil and part of that evil is that He causes those He has predetermined to be the reprobate as vessels of wrath to not know Him –to never understand the ‘why’ of their fate as a whole, much less in advance.  They always think they can turn to God when they want ..at the end of a philosophical road. That induces fear in me of God to watch what God does to them; a holy dread which we are commanded to have both as a creating act of God as Word and as the experience of what-was-created in working out that Word.

Proverbs 4:18,19  But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.  The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Isaiah 43:10  You are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know, and believe me, and understand that I myself am. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there shall be none.

Ephesians 2:2-7  Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of this air, of the spirit that now worketh on the children of unbelief:  In which also we all conversed in time past, in the desires of our flesh, fulfilling the will of the flesh and of our thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest;  But God (who is rich in mercy) for his exceeding charity wherewith he loved us.  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together in Christ (by whose grace you are saved) And hath raised us up together and hath made us sit together in the heavenly places, through Christ Jesus.  That he might shew in the ages to come the abundant riches of his grace, in his bounty towards us in Christ Jesus.

To be wicked and reprobate is to never know Christ. That the wicked make a living by making a public face of ‘trying to know God’ is no different than the wolves who pretend to be crippled only to get closer to the prey by saying they gave Calvinism a chance or are even ex-Calvinists, but were put off by the supposed haughty attitude of Calvinists who don’t do the emotional rubric or spiritual intelligence of a single speech ( non-creating speech/anti-Christ), uniformitarian, free willed model of total reality and have no sympathy for it whatsoever.

We as new creatures in Jesus Christ know Who and What the truth is: God. Part of that Truth/Christ is that the reprobate will be debating and philosophizing until they are cast into the lake of fire.

In the end, evil is simply God getting rid of His enemies and causing even the elect to suffer a small portion of that wrath in the flesh to carry with them the memory forever as a grace from God. To know it, to understand it, is not at all to say “It’s evil to even ask what evil is  ..once.”

Romans 8:18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Are you saying God is the author of sin?

  2. christianclarityreview

God created evil. God created moral evil, not just physical catastrophe. The post has the Word and is perfectly clear.

But there is this: I know good and well many would love on a certain level to hear me say “God is the author of sin” to run away calling heresy! heresy! .. after they have defined sin to be:

    1. a mere act
    2. an act done in ‘free will’

… and after having defined total reality to supposedly exist as will-neutral environment as a foundation ..as dogma, then seek to defend:

James 1:17,18 Every best gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change nor shadow of alteration. For of his own will hath he begotten us by the word of truth, that we might be some beginning of his creature.

..within the lie of human free will.

God is perfectly holy, perfectly unspotted and perfectly just to create whatever He wants whenever He wants and to integrate what He creates into His creation in whatever manner He wants to have whatever effects He wants. and does. And that is the offense to those deceived they have and who teach human free will. God is not denigrated in speaking Himself as Truth –their lie of human free will is crushed. That means your version of the lie of free will as well, right here, right now.

The word ‘author’ is heavy with free willer baggage, as is the word “sin” to the modern Christian because of the corruptions of free will theology and terminology across all denominational bounds.

Sin is in fact a living creature. Sin is not an act that hasn’t happened yet but to which men supposedly are slaves ( as in “in bondage to sin” ) and simply keep on sin-ing because they supposedly have free will and like to do it. Sin is a spirit created by God to do as He pleases with it even as it causes men to delight in itself.

Romans 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity: not willingly, but by reason of him that made it subject, in hope.

So with that understanding of sin, God created sin. The lie of human free will as having sin as a mere act or thing-that-happens-as-an-episode would make God have to stand next to each person and force them to do particular acts that displease Him on a continual basis in order to make such a thing as “God being the author of sin” ( God Himself would basically have to keep on forcing behavior each time, etc. ) an obvious and true heresy because God Says as Truth :

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

If not for the sake of other persons who read these things, I would not even speak to you. You have sown your own confusions and reaped them after denying the power of the Word of God. Now when God is plain you have to protest to protect your former lies and the connections between them that make them even seem to have a logical air. You have heard the Word of God and apparently read it in-depth ..and yet cannot hear God. On your website that lying spirit in your flesh speaks of “easysolutionism” and supposedly fights against ..that. To simply ask a supposed innocent “are you saying God is the author of sin” without defining sin is exactly the type of easysolutionism free willers constantly seek in order to pretend they defend God’s good name when in truth they only defend their own lies.

There is no problem of wondering where evil and sin came from or come from when you have the mind of Christ as all new creatures in Jesus do. Only as a non-new creation in Jesus Christ can you worship a thousand doubts and seek to keep them all in some logical order so that you seem to both defend God ( as if He needed such reputation polishing as you pretend to do) and keep alive the lie of human free will.

If you wish a quote, as so many free willers do to ridicule God in Calvinists here is the truth in a small form: “God created sin. God created ALL evil. There is no evil that exists that God did not create and which He does not control AND God is still holy, still perfect and every Word of Scripture that attest to the pure and perfect nature of God is Truth.” That does not denigrate God –just your lie of free will.

I hope this has been clear, you lying dog. There is a perfect difference between Satan asking a theological question and God through an elect person asking that same question. Go tell your buddies I do not do your free willer version of emotional etiquette at all. God does not allow me to and I don’t need to for God to be perfectly effective through me. God through births new creatures in Jesus Christ, He doesn’t “will-neutrally talk someone into a certain model of behavior”.

Those whom God calls He finds and blesses. Those who lie always get what God wants to give them as they are filled with their own devices.

Hebrews 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

    ————————

Luke 11:53,54 And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

Thank you for your exhaustive response.

I’m not going to provide an equally long counter-argument here. Let me just note a couple of things. First, you are using the phrase “free will” sixteen times here, fourteen times in your response to my question. I am not advocating this concept and so won’t defend it and I’m not an Arminian. However the notion that Arminianism is flawed doesn’t make the doctrines of grace any truer. Two wrongs don’t yield a right. Second, if you declare God to be the author of sin in any way, you are really pursuing a minority position, for none of the reformed creeds are willing to draw this logical conclusion. The Westminser Confession of Faith explicitly denies the Most Holy One’s authorship of sin. So most Calvininsts refuse to go where their doctrinal system logically leads, because where it leads contradicts the bible so blatantly. Thus, they stop before the last step and make God NOT be the author of sin by sort of an xplicit definition. This is why I was marveling, beause you seem to admit that God, who is holy, can be identified as the ultimate origin of all evil and sin. I warn you that you might have committed the fallacy of easysolutionism–The ultimate source of sin cannot be located in the Most Holy One and it is not possible to convict Him of sin. You should abolish your conclusions! Seriously.

I have not taken a logical step: I have quoted Scripture as it is written minus any agenda placed on it to twist it from what He Says as God has done it through me.

Trying to make out that Calvinism is simply “human logic applied to God” is in truth the game of Satan through the Arminians, even though they have never been logical, but have succeeded on a certain level to make themselves appear to be so. Now when you are plainly demonstrated to be illogical and grossly immoral all along you go for the “it takes greater faith to believe in a God who grants free will” ploy of hiding in mystery and ‘paradox’. The Roman Catholics are way ahead of you on that one. God is very reasonable and very logical when He shows you Himself.

God is true in and out of the minority or majority opinion of men. You are in fact an anti-Calvinist. That makes you a free willer who espouses the lie of human free will. You might like to think of yourself as a Biblicists or some other such title, but you are in fact outright espousing a false gospel on your website. In your past education, they gave you parameters that make it seem you are this or that according to their schemes so that you could move here and there within their outlook on reality to give you the pretense of freedom. But in truth you are slave to the lie and worship demons.

God is Holy. Plainly, God is His definition of holy, not man’s definition of what holy ought ideally to be. Simply because He sent a spirit to perform what He wanted to perform and part of what that spirit does is hide what it really is –sin– makes no difference.

God routinely does things He forbids men to do and amazes men in doing so. That doesn’t make Him inconsistent. That makes Him God.

As for the Westminster Confession, there are many who seek to make a simple replacement for the Bible and would hold the Bible in error if any questions arise between the two. The WC was a compromise document between schools of opinion on many things and some outright Arminians were among them. It has been a help, but a very limited one over the centuries.

the background those who wrote it were coming from was one of :

      1. sin is an act
      2. men must have some freedom in order to be morally culpable for committing acts God forbids
      3. language itself is simply one big ‘thing’ that God and Satan must use to communicate
.. they unwittingly denied God as Word in doing so in the midst of saying He as Word is the final authority.

It will not be sufficient to quote the errors of others, no matter their renown, fame or traditional place in Church doctrine when we face God. He has sent His Word which leads us from error.

You should well consider what your answer will be if He asks you: “What are you doing in a speech I made for liars, thieves and murderers after I sent you myself as Word? Why did you think to mix that speech with me?” God being physically present in you is the actual new birth in Jesus Christ. God somewhere else while you have some amount of freedom because of His absence is the lie of human free will. and in reality, in God’s absence men do not have free will: they are given to one spirit or another.

You are a vessel of honor or dishonor. There is no in-between.

No mention of good doctrine in one instance and bad doctrine in the next in:

Matthew 7:17-19 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

The very same path you are on has lead to public homosexuality, killing of the unborn and even execution of the comatose in the Netherlands for those who “no longer have free will”. You are teaching others that God Said they have freedom to do as they please and He will judge them for it afterwards. That spirit in your flesh is the enemy of God and man. Yet supposedly, you hear God all time because you study your Bible so well and so thoroughly as to dispute His servants and confound the public.

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Yes, I’m an anti-Calvinists and I’m operating a blog dedicated to refuting the doctrines of grace based on Calvinism’s foundational scriptural pillars. I’m embracing the principle Sola Scriptura. Again, I’m not a “free willer”, this conclusion is rather displaying your easysolutionistic mindset.

Considering your dogma that God, who is holy, is the author of sin, I just posted a response to the blog combatingcalvinism.blogspot.com, because it would be a little long as a reply in a comment thread, so I didn’t want to write all that right here. So this post is a rebuttal of the absurd contention that God wants sin. And in particular it responds to these words of yours:

You should well consider what your answer will be if He asks you: “What are you doing in a speech I made for liars, thieves and murderers after I sent you myself as Word? Why did you think to mix that speech with me?” God being physically present in you is the actual new birth in Jesus Christ.

By the way, especially your notion that sin is not an act but a living creature, is bizarre. 1 John 3,4 defines sin. You should abandon the doctrines of grace!

I posted my own article on sin being a living creature. Not as bizarre as you think, unless you have other doctrines built on sin being a mere act men do in free will. You are indeed a free willer who has embraced the lie, unwittingly or not, that God and Satan speak the same speech.

You are not in need of embracing doctrines those in Christ know to be true as mere intellectual widgets. Before you can even begin to understand the deep things of the Spirit of God, you have to be born again by the Word of God. But you have already read the Word of God and it apparently had no such effect on you such that you compare it to the speech Lucifer speaks in order to even have a pretense your doctrines are true.

There is then no hope whatsoever that you and I are going to come to any type of agreement in any type of emotional etiquette. much less the love of God in Jesus Christ.

You have to keep up the pretense of having a logical argument to win converts with: all your definitions must line up precisely in line with all the others and that is the basis you appeal to others as ‘evangelism’. One little nudge and your whole house of cards comes crashing down. And you can’t convert anyone without them according to your own denial of grace. You can’t raise the dead in new birth in Jesus Christ and even if you thought you could with your false gospel you would never appeal to handicapped person because they can’t do the intellectual gymnastics required to keep up with your lies. In Christ as Christ really is, all are saved minus any mental gymnastics on our part: it was and is a miraculous, divine event. But since you have insulted the Spirit of Grace, you cannot hear.

Hebrews 10:28=31 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing,

and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace

? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Titus 3:10,11 A man that is a heretic, after the first and second admonition, avoid: Knowing that he that is such an one is subverted and sinneth, being condemned by his own judgment.
